Willington Garden Centre

29th March 2015

Visited: Willington Garden Centre

Following a hen night out in Cambridge the night before I was craving a greasy fry up however we had already planned a more sophisticated breakfast at Willington Garden Centre (should of thought that through really!!!).

The setting there is lovely and the fish pond in the cafe area is a great touch, although Evan was loving the fish which meant we were taken over there every moment he could.

Right, down to the nitty gritty the food! The choice was slim but think we were all in the same mind set, good old English breakfast (jumping on Monika and Craig's band wagon) or in Heather and Evans case a sausage baguette. The food seems well priced but unlike other places you have to add on toast and tea or coffee so actually ends up costing a little bit more than average. Being slightly dehydrated from the previous night I had a fresh fruit juice which was beautiful but at £2.50 I was guessing it would be. The breakfast itself was great quality not dripping in fat, amazing sausages! portion size was good too but didn't go home completely satisfied . Another little bonus is after we had enjoyed a nice quality breakfast in nice surroundings you can have a little mooch around the shop itself.

Price- The price seems good but when you add on toast and tea or coffee it soon adds up. 5/10

Quality - Excellent quality especially the sausages and bacon 8/10

Quantity - Nice sized breakfast but could of done with more 7/10

Betty Bumbles Vintage Tea Rooms

15th March 2015

Visited - Betty Bumbles Vintage Tea Rooms in St Neots

This was a bit of a random choice, we had generally stuck to your 'normal' cafes and chains however it was a very welcome change. We turned up at 10am as they were opening and had a warm welcome, baring in mind it was Mother's Day it wasn't to busy at all and managed to get a nice spot upstairs. They came to take our order quickly but had a little wait for it to arrive, time flew as we were nattering away they did apologies and said is was due to the grills etc warming up. Craig and Monika went for the English breakfast, Hev and Ross went for the three tired breakfast and so did we especially with the added bonus of being able to share with Evan. The English breakfast were a good size and had the extra bonus of bubble and squeak and both Craig and Monika were very happy with their choice. However I think there was a little food envy as the three tied breakfast didn't just have pasties (as we thought it might) but also came with a breakfast muffin (bacon and fried egg) and at £15.95 for two people or in our case three it was good value for money especially with the endless tea, one thing I do think is slightly odd is that is comes with crisps!! but again for Evan this made breakfast that little bit more special. Highly recommend a visit to Betty bumbles for breakfast especially if it's for a special occasion, but if I was to go back I would arrive at 10.30am gives them time to get things 'warmed up'

Price - Slightly above average on price but well worth it especially with the tea and coffee included in the breakfast price. 7/10

Quality- Great quality I would say it's above average 9/10

Quantity- Although as a general rule you think you either get quantity or quality this ticked both the boxes none of us went away hungry 9/10

Introduction-who we are.

What is breakfast club? A good excuse to catch up with friends and eat!

Who goes to breakfast club? A group of 6 adults, a 3 year old and two babies.

Purposes? To satisfy everyone's breakfast needs.

Where we go? Anywhere from St Neots, Huntingdon, cambridge, sandy, Biggleswade Bedford and anywhere in between.

Life was beginning to get busy but the need to socialise was still there and what better time to meet up with your friends that first thing in the morning giving you the rest of your day to get on with your mundane life stuff!

The group consists of Craig and Monika which stick to the good old fashioned fry up/ English breakfast they have baby Oliver which isn't quite ready to review breakfasts! Heather and Ross again Ross generally sticks to the good British fry up yet heather mixes it up with a vegetarian option now and then (to note she's not a veggie). Finally there's me (Katie), Lewis and our three year old Evan and baby Molly again Molly is a way off breakfast reviews. I love anything eggy, eggs benedict, Humpty Dumpty eggs etc Lewis is an omelette and chips/hash brown man (yes for breakfast) and Evan thinks it's amazing when we go to Frankie and Bennys and he can have pancakes and ice cream but generally he sticks to toast, sausages etc.

Now we have been doing this a while (approx a year) and only now I have decided to log our finding I won't back track to much as it gives us a good excuse to go back and sample some of our favourites.
